Where can you see Vienna at its brilliant best? At the cathedral, of course.
Café am Dom is just a few steps, 47 to be precise — if we haven’t miscounted them — from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. And no matter how many times you see it, the cathedral wows you every time with its beauty and long history.
Our grand location notwithstanding, we aim to create an ambience that steals your gaze away from the beauty across the square. No clue if we’ll manage to succeed, mind you. But from 9:00AM to 11:00PM, seven days of the week, we will make every effort to achieve just that. Come and see for yourself. And by the way, it doesn’t stop with St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The view inside our café is a real eye-catcher as well!

Sure, it would be great, but you can’t eat schnitzel every day.
The name Figlmüller not only stands for the city’s most-famed Wiener Schnitzel, but also for outstanding hospitality and peak quality in every respect. We also live these values at Café am Dom, which is just a few minutes’ walk from Figlmüller in Wollzeile, where the famous culinary family began frying up history.
Let’s quench your thirst for knowledge, too!
More than 230,000 tiles. That’s what it takes to transform the roof of St. Stephen’s Cathedral into a unique work of art. On the south side, it reveals a double-headed eagle and the symbol of the Habsburg monarchy. On the north side, a pair of single-headed eagles stand watch over the city. They represent the city of Vienna and the Republic of Austria.
136 meters and 343 steps. The south tower is the cathedral’s highest. At the end of the arduous climb, the Türmerstube awaits rewarding sweat-soaked climbers with a sensational view over Vienna. Incidentally, the record for the fastest run up the tower is 1 minute and 17 seconds. If you beat it, we will be happy to invite you for a drink.
21 bells and the Pummerin. That’s the name of the most famous and by far the largest bell in the cathedral, which only rings on special occasions. It was cast in 1705 from abandoned cannons. In 1945, it fell to the ground and broke, six years later, a new Pummerin was cast from the pieces.
Experience Vienna from its finest side. Laugh, enjoy, eat and drink right across from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. What are you waiting for? We can’t wait to welcome you here.
